German-born art historian Rudolf Wittkower (1901-1971) and interior designer Margot Wittkower, née Holzmann (1902-1995), were married in 1923. This style of architecture eventually became her expertise. As Margot was also an Italian Renaissance and Baroque specialist, the couple collaborated on the publications Born under Saturn (1963) and The divine Michelangelo (1964)
